The Art Institutes 2013 Best Teen Chef and Culinary Scholarship Competition is a chance for high school seniors and high school graduates to show us their passion for the culinary arts and to make our judges' mouths water!
One grand prize winner will receive a trip for two to New York City for a VIP tour of Food Network's studios, dinner at a Food Network chef's restaurant, plus a library of Food Network Kitchen's cookbooks.
Also, more than $100,000 in tuition scholarships to The Art Institutes schools will be awarded to high school seniors and high school graduates!

Who's eligible?
The competition is open to high school seniors in the U.S., Canada (with the exception of Quebec), and Puerto Rico who will graduate in 2013. The competition is also open to high school graduates in the U.S., Canada (with the exception of Quebec), and Puerto Rico. You must be at least 16 to participate. Categories for high school seniors and high school grads are separate.
Your dish.
Submit a favorite recipe complete with a title, ingredients, instructions, the number of servings, and presentation ideas. Include a statement detailing your interest in studying at The Art Institutes. The statement must be a minimum of 500 and maximum of 1,000 words.
What else: An optional photo of your dish may also be uploaded. The image must be in a JPEG format (minimum resolution of 300 dpi). Files must not exceed 10MB.
Judging Criteria.
- Adherence to entry requirements (35%);
- Essay (35%);
- Appeal of finished dish (15%);
- Creative use of ingredients (15%).
Finalists in both categories will be invited to participate in the Local Cook-Off at the Participating School. See Official Rules for complete details.
